Staggerwing Southeast Asia Journey

Hi Folks:

It’s late night with an early getup in the morning. Nothing new…it’s aviation.

The plan is to fly the Red Rockette on Tuesday, 12 Oct 2010, from Kuala Lumpur’s Subang airport to Hat Yai, Thailand for Customs clearance. After that, hopefully short stop, it will be onwards up the coast of southern Thailand towards Bangkok, but turning right to cross the bight to Pattaya Airpark, near U-Tapao. That was a B-52 base a generation back.

Will spend 3 to 4 days there, then fly a whopping 30 miles north to Bang Phra airfield, just southeast of Bangkok.

The aero club there is very active and is interested in seeing the Red Rockette.

Gotta take a nap. More another time.

Cheers, Windsock

Waiting on flight clearance

I’m in Kuala Lumpur waiting on flight clearance to Pattaya Airpark, near Bangkok, Thailand next weekend, 9-10 Oct. The weather is still somewhat rainy but due to be less stormy soon.  But weather everywhere is changing.  The aircraft will be test flown during the week.  This is my first go at this blog program so please forgive me if it is not up to par. I’ll get better at it as time goes on.

Cheers, Windsock
