Touring historic Jordan..Part 1

After arriving in Amman I searched around the internet for a tour company in the area. I knew I would be here for a few days prior to heading off to Cyprus. At that time I thought that arrangements were in good order for that next leg the following Monday. Didn’t quite work out that way. ┬áSome email problems got in the way but they now seem to be resolved and progress is being made for a departure sometime next week…specific day unknown. More on that in the next post.

Found a tour company that seemed to fit my needs and arrangements were made for a two day tour southbound to a place that I’ve waited about 65 years or so to see…that being one of the “New” 7 Wonders of the World…Petra. It’s known as the “Lost City” but in reality it was never really lost…just very well kept secret from foreigners. It’s on the list of World Heritage sites and is alone well worth a journey to Jordan. Only another hour or so south is another magnificent treasure of Jordan…Wadi Rum. This area is reminiscent of Monument Valley in the U.S. I’ll chat about those places next time. This is just a short one to answer the many questions about why I’m still here. Answer…flight details. More in a day or two.
